Belgian designer of the year 2012 Alain Gilles found a second life in design. After a short lived carreer in the financial world he decided to re-invent himself and study industrial design in France. In 2007 he opened his own design studio in Brussels and started working with established names such as Qui est Paul?, Casamania en Bonaldo. For his Nomad lamp that works on solar power he received the prestigious Henry Van De Velde label and his "Big Table", made for Bonaldo, received a Good Design Award in 2009.
Alain Gilles created the Box Sofa, Grooves tables and Trompe l'oeuil mirror.
